Do recipients need an account to download files?
No. Anyone with the link can access the files, as long as they meet the access rules you set (password, expiry, etc.).
How secure are my files?
Security is our top priority. Files are stored securely using encrypted cloud storage, and access is controlled via private, unguessable links with optional password protection.
Can I set files to expire automatically?
Yes. You can set links to expire after a specific time. Expired files are automatically removed to help with privacy and compliance.

What file types are supported?
You can upload and share any file type, as long as it complies with our Terms of Service. Illegal, copyrighted, or prohibited content is not allowed.
Does Fortbyte.io scan or view my files?
No. Fortbyte.io does not routinely view or analyze file contents. Files are only accessed when necessary for moderation or legal compliance, such as in response to a valid report or suspected policy violation. If a file is reviewed and found to comply with our Terms of Service, no action is taken.

Can I see how many times my link was accessed?
Yes. Fortbyte.io provides download statistics for each link, so you can track how many times your files have been accessed.

Yes. Fortbyte.io offers team plans that allow multiple users to share and manage files together with centralized billing and administration.
What happens if content is reported or violates policies?
Fortbyte.io reviews reported content to ensure compliance with our Terms of Service. If a file is found to violate policies, it may be removed and the uploader notified. Repeated violations can lead to account suspension.
Can expired files or links be republished?
Yes. Files may be republished after a link has expired as long as automatic deletion after expiry is not enabled. Files remain available for republishing unless they have reached their maximum retention period or have been removed due to policy or legal reasons.
How long are files kept before being permanently deleted?
If automatic deletion after expiry is not enabled, files are retained for up to 30 days after their associated links expire. After this retention period, files are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
